Does Anyone Have A Kiddo That Won't Wear Shorts Or Short Sleeve Shirts?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My tween son refused to wear short sleeves or shorts. This only became an issue a years ago. He used to wear whatever I picked out for him. I only put him in soft material like sweat pants and cotton shirts, removing any irritating tags. It gets in the low 100's over the summer and I'm hoping to turn this behavior around before summer. Has anyone else encountered this?

My child told me recently that he prefers long sleeves because he’s afraid of falling and scraping himself. His school is mostly asphalt so I can understand the fear.

Risperdone And Body Heat
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Since the pandemic, one of the twin girls with autism would become extremely hot after taking her medication risperdone. I thought this was odd so I started watching her each and every time. She would get hot all over her body like she was having a fever. I did search online and have discovered that this is a common symptom of this medication. Has anyone else ever had this issue?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son has autism and is 10. He has become obsessed with riding in the car. I'm thinking it has something to do with sensory needs. It seems to comfort him but it's a complete disruption to everyday life. Does anyone have any advice?

What Can Be Done To Help Headbanging/hitting Head?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter has always hit her head with both hands in every sinario (even when she first wakes up) but recently it's been getting very hard and I just don't know what to do about it, it's so hard to try distract her and try to find any triggers is seeming to be impossible, any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially since the woman who normally works with my child is off on holiday 😬

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 6 years old and attends school M-F. Lately every morning it has been a challenge getting our son to get dressed. He has a meltdown and fights with us. This has become an issue not because by the time he finally calms down and gets dressed we end up being late to school. We have tried having him pick his clothes. We have also tried having multiple options available to him when getting… read more
